About

Background
While there are many good organizations providing services to the disabled community, there seems to be a disconnect among clients and also among service providers. Many clients are not fully aware of the range of services available to them. There are redundant programs but with limited resources. Some individuals lack a sense of independence, self-esteem, and support.

Mission
Our mission is to create a collaborative of individuals and service providers that will work strategically to partner, advocate, build community, and share resources in order to better support the disabled community.
Our vision is to see an enhanced quality of life for the disabled community where individuals are empowered, service providers are better connected, and the broader community has a better understanding of the disabled culture.

A.C.E. Programs
Since we are a new project of Catalyst, our steering committee will be developing specific programs that will help us to fulfill our mission. We have already connected with over 70 service providers throughout Southern California and we will be planning an "Introduction Luncheon" event.

Outcomes
  • Service providers in Long Beach and the surrounding region are better connected as partners in the collaborative.
  • An improved quality of life within the disabled community through increased social interactions, increased self-pride, and increased physical independence.
  • Increase awareness of the disabled culture through 4 quarterly campaigns.
